Planning A Happy Carefree Summer With The Kids
Summer break is officially only a month away! Yippee!!
Okay parents, what’s the plan?
I’ll tell you mine– have a carefree summer that is reminiscent of my childhood. I want to remember what it was like to be kid and then start acting like one.
Husband will be gone most of the summer working at his summer associateship…so you know what that means right!? Girls-only summer club!
I imagine us meeting each morning in our clubhouse to plan our daily adventure/expedition and then romping around the countryside. Whether its spreading out a blanket in an orchard and looking at bugs or hiking through the forest on an expedition or reading books outdoors for hours on end. Think Anne of Green Gables or Secret Garden style summer…you can come looking for us on top of Mt.Pisgah, we will be the ones wearing play clothing made out of old drapes and singing “Do-Re-Me” at the top of our lungs.
This summer will be LEGENDARY.
I have been acting way too much like a grown up this last year and I am ready to play hard this summer. The girls are totally on board with this and have already started thinking of it more like a kid boot camp for mom. For example, Raine just informed me that I will not be allowed to yell at all during the summer…ouch.
This is what I need…a busy-life, grown-up, detox. Any one with me?
We’re going to take care of the brainstorming, planning and organizing in the next few weeks…so when school’s out we can play! I’m thinking we will plan a 8-10 week summer.

Sounds like a fun summer for you three! My kiddo’s not in school yet so we don’t exactly have a summer in regards to school, but I definitely try to have some warm-weather activities lined up like swimming and such.
